If you're over 60, the good news is that it's still possible to lose weight. Even though your metabolism has slowed down with age, there are some simple things you can do to start losing pounds and boost your health. Here are our top 8 best ways to effectively lose weight after 60:

1. Get moving! Exercise is one of the best ways to kickstart weight loss. With age, it's important to stay active and find a low impact exercise that you enjoy. This could include walking, cycling, or even swimming. If you enjoy exercising in less gravity, research joining a water aerobics class at a local gym, or community pool. 2. Eat healthy foods! Eating well is essential for losing weight after 60. Make sure to get plenty of fruits, vegetables, lean proteins (chicken, some fish, turkey, lean beef) and whole grains. Avoid processed food as much as possible, and junk/fast food 100% of the time.

3. Monitor your calories. Counting calories is a great way to make sure you're eating within your weight loss goals.
